E-MAIL DELIVERY FAILURES
With every Communit-E that I send out, there are always a few delivery
failures. They may be different addresses each time. Therefore, if
you
haven't received a Communit-E for a while, you might want to check
the ANC3F
web site at: http://www.dc.net/maudlin/communit-e.html.
You'll find recent back issues there. For everything, it's good
to remember
that e-mail is really convenient, but it's not perfect. Don't assume
that
because you sent it that it was always received.
I'm a little behind in getting out a comprehensive Communit-E. Bear
with me;
one will come out this coming week. I apologize to those who sent items
for
me to post and have not yet seen them in the newsletter.

issues in
the neighborhood which need to be addressed. The more people
we have
involved, the more effective we can be.

DC

DID YOU SEE MY CAT?
From: MacLeodL@sec.gov (Lorna MacLeod)
Please help me find my cat. I live on 49th Street near Massachusetts.
Last Thursday, my mature but vigorous house cat managed to get out
of the
house and has been missing ever since. At this point, I am hoping
that she
has been taken in by some animal loving neighbor.
Molly is a twelve and a half year old female who neither looks nor acts
her age. She is a black and tan tabby with classic markings and
white
patches on her chest, stomach and feet. She does not have front claws.
She is a sociable cat and responds to her name.
I would appreciate hearing from anybody who either thinks that they
have seen her or has any information about what has happened to her.
I
can be reached by phone at (202) 537-9789 (h) or (202) 942-0684 (w).
Thank you so much for your help!
ARREST OF BURGLAR SUSPECTS
From: nwj2813@lycos.com (Detective Neil W Jones)
During the first week of September two subjects were arrested in the
3800 blk
of Morrison St NW. Both subjects claimed to reside at a home
in the block.
At the time of the arrest a search was executed at the residence.
A variety
of items were seized and taken to the Second District for suspected
proceeds
of a crime. The items range from lawn equipment, stereo equipment
and
assorted tools. Suspects claim they do yard work in the area.
Anyone with
questions about items recovered contact Det. Neil Jones @ 202-282-0043.
Subjects arrested:
Roger (Willie) Dews
black male, drk complx
5'8", 137lbs
short cropped hair
Kim Weston
black male, lgt complx
5'6", 132 lbs
bald head
PS: Also, a black male, 6'00", 230 lbs, dark complx, with
a bald head was
arrested for burglary in the 3800 blk of Yuma St NW. Anyone with
questions
related to this individual should contact me also.
At this time Dews is out on personal recognizance and Weston is at a
half-way
house and is out during the day. In other words, they could both
be back in
the neighborhood.
TOWER UPDATE
From: CooperJM
Can you help get signatures in your neighborhood on our STOP THE TOWER
petition?
Volunteer to do a couple of blocks, or more, if you have the time.
We have
100 signatures as of today. Let's show the Mayor the whole
neighborhood
wants to STOP THE TOWER!
contact: Julie Marcus at: Jmarcus@CafeDeluxe.com,
or call 363-1116.
If we have not heard from the Mayor by Monday afternoon about his
decision/possible community meeting, we are going to deliver our petition
to
his office Tuesday morning.
ADDITIONAL TOWER ACTION SUGGESTION: Friday's Washington Post has
a blurb
focusing on the American Tower Corporation's attorney's thoughts about
the
city shutting down the project. Our neighbor, Gail Shibley, suggests
we
write letters to the editor-- Let's let them know OUR thoughts.
GREAT IDEA!
The fastest way to get your letter in: letters@washpost.com
Tim says this is a template you have to fill in-- you can't paste.
If anyone
finds a way to do that, let me know, and I'll send it out.
